"UFO" is a vibrant and energetic expression of a journey, both physically and metaphorically. Sonic Winter reflects on their extensive travels and music collaborations around the world. 

The song delves the creative process and the power of music. Sonic Winter describes music as a transformative force that serves to unite people from all four corners of the globe.

The title is therefore aptly named since the band itself is a real musical UFO. Sonic Winter go beyond the confines of trip-hop music with a multi-layered song that envelopes hip-hop beats, captivating rap vocals, heavy rock guitars and elements of future bass.

The lyrics were written and interpreted by Messy MC.

Originally formed in 2012, this artist collective is at its core a duo comprised of guitarist Jean-Marc Millière and keyboardist Francis Girola. Yet, each and every of their project features a variety of talented musicians from all around the globe and stemming from highly diverse musical horizons.

Likewise, their repertoire is equally varied and unclassifiable. There is one thing we can know for certain: they constantly strive to break free of any mould one could try to place them in. Fusing elements from a wide range of genres, Sonic Winter’s music is steeped in the 1970’s artistic ethos, back in the days when people were not afraid of crossing over creative borders. In that regard, every song sets you out on a truly unique voyage of discovery that takes you by surprise, an epic journey of sounds that can be visually evocative, thoughtful and even danceable at times.

In 2016, Sonic Winter were handpicked by electronic music legend Jean-Michel Jarre to feature on a tribute album titled Zoolook Revisited. The project was part of a music contest organised by Soundhunters.

Over the years, Sonic Winter has been selected for numerous compilations such as Aux Confins De L'Extinction (2017), an album curated by music webzine French Métal and which featured some the best indie rock bands from France. Sonic Winter also promotes good music for good causes. They have taken part in several charity records such as Doomsday and Brimstone (2012), Playing For Paris (2015) and Ungovernable Resistance Nepal Relief Fund Compilation Vol 2 (2015). In addition to two albums, the band also released two singles: ‘Salomé’ (2017) and ‘Blank’ (2018).

During a three-year creative hiatus, Sonic Winter have honed their craft and developed a signature blend of alternative music drawing from rock, trip-hop, electronica, blues and soul. They have recently come back with a whole set of brand-new songs that will leave you hungry for more. The first instalment, ‘Never Bet The Devil Your Head’, was released in December 2021 and achieved critical success worldwide. Followed by 'Take My Hand' in October 2022.

Their upcoming single UFO will be release on 13 October 2023.
